The Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo announced plans for expansion.  It’s really good to see that Rosenblatt Stadium will not be forgotten.

Big Omaha – One Month Later

Its been almost a month since I attended the Big Omaha Event with several other business professionals. Where are you at with your dreams/goals.  The twitter stream is still buzzing at #bigomaha

For me, it is personal and as this site says its time to move to the action side and engage those clients and co-workers.

I am finishing up some goals for the remainder of 2010 and I am looking for big wins in the summer with some new marketing programs.

What are you doing? What are your goals?  Stay Motivated! The summer is an easy time to let down and relax a bit. For others its the prime time to hitting the market hard.

Which side are you on? Its your decision.

Post your thoughts!

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

This was one of the best  conferences I have ever attended.  I cannot get over the talent I  saw today.  It was purely awesome. I took away so much information from the conference and I am fired up. These guys brought it and brought it with passion. I don’t think I have ever seen so much passion from so many speakers.

Will be posting more on this site and the Midwest Labs Blog Site.

Stuck in 2nd Gear

Today was my first real-life experience being stuck in 2nd Gear. My Buick Lacrosse, 172,000 miles lost its transmission. Shifting down from Drive down to 3 and then to 2. Lucky for me I could still drive in 2nd Gear and make it to the shop.

Of course drawing from this experience, or going through it right now, what else am I stuck in and need to get fixed to be operating at an optimal performance. I am in Week 2 of P90X. It is awesome and I need to continue to push myself to get better.

Social Media – Marketing Channel — Everyday I need to keep myself going to find the best use of this media for our company.

Faith/Family/Balance – This time of the year there are always end of school year programs, activities. I want to be there for my kids and stay focused at work. Best way to do this is at a higher level.

What is keeping you from operating at an optimal level? Think about and post your experience if you want. Thanks for taking the time to read my experience.

I am just in the early stages – Day 3 of P90X  |All I can say is WOW! It is a great workout and fun!  I have a long ways to go, but the biggest thing is starting it.

There is no good time to start! You just have to start! – Every day will have its activities. Find the time and get it done!

I really like the wide variety of activities. You are never bored and different muscles are worked.

Thanks to those of you who also encouraged me to begin the process.

Exciting end to a baseball game

My son’s team, AA Baseball team played a AAA Baseball Team and won 4-3. This is 14 year old baseball.  The game ended with the other team having runners at first base and third base with two outs. Our coach called out a special play where the pitcher steps off and fakes a throw to third and turns and throws to first base.  It worked to perfection. Us, fans breathed a sigh of relief.

This team now is 7-1-1. Yes a tie.  This past Sunday, the game ended in a 12-12 tie. The umpired indicated that time had expired. No game followed, just the umpires doing their job. Both Teams wanted to keep playing. The only reason I bring this up is that close baseball games usually hang on one play, pitch, swing.  Hopefully, you will not be the victim of a tie in the near future.

Dance Competition Team Shirts

I saw the stangest thing this past weekend.  In this day of competitive dance and select sports, a lot of parents and kids like to wear team apparel to help unify their fans and spectators.

This weekend, one group who will go unnamed had bright yellow shirts with the following slogan, “We bust ours … so we can kick yours …”

Are you kidding, really?!?!?  Have these people thought how stupid this slogan is with respect to their team. Have we really sunk this low that we have to print out shirts with slogans like this. Would your family wear such a shirt in public?

Be careful what you wear, you may have to live up to your slogan, or it may not fit if you don’t look the part either. Just a thought!

Facebook Fan Page

This is hard one for me to understand. I want to create a Fan Page for our company, Midwest Laboratories Fan Page that people genuinely want to go to.

You have all seen companies that have fan pages and their comments may sometimes be overkill on your Wall.

For me, I like staying in touch with what is going on at these companies. Our company is not one to offer coupons or free services, however I am going to try some things this week to gauge interest. I will let you know how it goes in a couple of weeks.

If you have some good ideas for our Fan Page to help attract more followers let me know. Also, better yet if you have a company page that I should visit for ideas, let me know.  I think more companies will be looking for answers to attracting people to their Company Fan Pages.

Have a great week!   – Hey I really appreciate your comments on twitter. A great shout out to David Rubinstein for some great comments this week. Follow him at @daverub on Twitter.
